Cove Guest Information
(Answers to Frequently Asked Questions)
Aloha, and thanks for booking at Honokeana Cove! Here’s all the info to help you plan a great vacation. (You can also reach this page by going to coveguest.com.)
Pre-Arrival
What Every Guest Needs To Know . . . show more
Are you new to condo rentals?
If so, we need to say: this is not a hotel! You won’t find a restaurant, gym or spa at Honokeana Cove. There’s no 24 hour desk or daily maid service. But also, there are no mile-long walks from your car to your room, or from your room to the ocean.
Honokeana Cove is a small gated property, right on the Pacific Ocean. There are only 38 low-rise condos, each with a full kitchen. Every condo has a direct view of the ocean and the island of Molokai. In fact, you’re never more than a few steps away from the heated pool, the tropical flowers and our resident sea turtles and colorful fish.
Think of this as a comfortable home-away-from-home, where you can relax and enjoy Maui at your own pace.
Contact Info . . . show more
The Rental Office is open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Hawaii Time, Monday through Friday, except holidays. If you need any assistance, phone us at 1-808-669-6441 or toll-free at 1-800-237-4948, or e-mail office@honokeana-cove.com. For after-hours emergencies, phone the Resident Manager at 1-808-269-6986.
Transportation . . . show more
Visitors to Maui usually arrive by airline and use a rental car while on the island. You most often get the best car rental rates by reserving well in advance of your arrival. It is possible to take a taxi or shuttle service to your lodging, and rent a car only on the days you need it. However, there are so many great places to visit on Maui that most guests find it more efficient to rent a car for their entire visit.
The main Maui airport is in Kahului and its airline code is OGG. When you exit baggage claim to the street, follow the signs to catch the free tram to the car rental building. It’s also possible to walk there in about eight minutes along a sidewalk. After picking up your car, you will have about a one hour drive to West Maui and Honokeana Cove.
There is also a small airport in West Maui (code JHM), which has some nearby car rental services. This airport is only open during daylight hours and only accommodates short-range aircraft. If you were to use the West Maui airport you would probably fly first to Honolulu, ride the “Wiki Wiki” shuttle to another terminal, then wait for to board a small plane for West Maui. It is generally more expensive to fly into West Maui, but the price of a car rental may be less. Because there are fewer flights and poorer connections if you fly directly to West Maui, most visitors prefer to fly into Kahului and then take a rental car or ride share to West Maui.
Driving Directions . . . show more
In case you want to map it, your vacation destination is Honokeana Cove, 5255 Lower Honoapiilani Road, Lahaina, HI 96761.
Most guests arrive at the main airport in Kahului (OGG). If you want to stock up on groceries right away, a good choice is the Costco near the airport, if you’re a Costco member and if you arrive during their open hours. Costco’s grocery prices are somewhat lower than on the West Side of Maui. Another source for groceries, open into the late hours, is the Safeway supermarket on the main highway (Highway HI-30) in Lahaina. You will pass that market on the way to Honokeana Cove.
For detailed turn-by-turn driving directions, please click HERE.
Parking . . . show more
Honokeana Cove provides free parking to its guests in an off-street parking lot. Due to limited space, no matter how many guests are staying in a rental unit, the unit is allocated parking for only one vehicle. If you have a large group, be sure to rent a vehicle that will seat everyone, and plan to carpool together.
The lot includes two handicapped spaces and two spaces that are sometimes restricted. All the other spaces are unassigned and you may park anywhere that you find convenient.
When you pick up your unit key, you will also receive a parking pass; please hang it from your rear view mirror. That will make it easier to contact you in case of an emergency or any situation that needs your car to be moved.
Arrival at Honokeana Cove . . . show more
Aloha, and welcome to Honokeana Cove!
If you arrive during office hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday except holidays) come to the Rental Office at the far end (south end) of the parking lot. They can let you onto the property and make sure you have the gate code so you can come and go freely. When the office is closed you will need to have the current four-digit combination to open the gates and enter the property from the parking lot.
You will receive an e-mail from the Rental Office a week or more in advance of your arrival telling you the gate code. Be sure to get the current code in advance, because even if you plan to arrive during office hours, sometimes flights are delayed and you might arrive when the office is closed. If you have not received the code before you leave home, please phone the rental office at 1-808-669-6441 or toll-free at 1-800-237-4948 to receive this info.
If you have any questions, by all means phone the rental office at the above numbers. We look forward to welcoming you!
Check-In and After-Hours Arrival . . . show more
Aloha, and welcome to Honokeana Cove!
You may check in any time after 4:00 pm on your date of arrival.
The Honokeana Cove rental office is at the far end (south end) of the parking lot. If you arrive during office hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday except holidays), come into the office to say hello and pick up your key.
If you arrive after office hours, use the gate code you were sent to enter the gate. The diagram below shows the arrangement of the buildings. Note the location of unit #110, the resident manager’s apartment, and note the location of your reserved unit. Just in case you might arrive late, you may wish to click on this map to expand it, and print it out for reference. Outside the resident manager’s front door (the door nearest the parking lot) is a small black mailbox. In it you will find an envelope with your name on it. Your key will be inside along with a parking permit to hang in your car, and a property map. In case of any difficulty, call the resident manager’s cell phone at 1-808-269-6986.
Pets . . . show more
Honokeana Cove does not allow pet animals of any kind on the property or in any rental unit.
Before bringing a service animal compliant with the Americans with Disability Act, the Fair Housing Act and Hawaii Code 515-3, guests must (1) submit advance written verification to the Rental Office and to the Resident Manager, and (2) request a copy, and agree to the House Rules restricting such animals.
Smoking . . . show more
Honokeana Cove permits smoking only at the bench in the Designated Smoking Area in the southeast corner of the parking lot. Smoking is not permitted anywhere else on the property, not inside the condominium units, and not on the lanais. This restriction also applies to e‐cigs, vapes and all other products that produce an aerosol vapor.
What To Pack . . . show more
Here is a brief checklist to help you pack. For more detailed information, please see the links below.
• Reef-safe sunblock (even if you plan to tan)
• Sunglasses
• Sunhat or visor
• Swimwear
• If you have them: swim goggles, snorkeling mask and swim fins; some units provide snorkeling gear and you can also rent them, but your own equipment will fit you better
• Binoculars
• Camera
• Umbrella or rain jacket
• Light sweater or jacket, and some long pants, in case it’s chilly
• Lots of T shirts and shorts
• Teva sandals or similar waterproof nonslip footwear
• A T-shirt or two (and perhaps a hat, too) that you don’t mind getting wet, to keep from getting sunburned while you’re snorkeling
• Cell phone charger – preferably, one for each cell phone. Note: cell phone signals are weak some places in Maui, therefore all the time your phone is turned on, it is using battery power searching for a station; so even if your phone usually runs two weeks without a recharge, it may not do that in Maui. Your phone may completely run down overnight unless you leave it plugged in or turned off. So, bring your charger!
• If you plan to bike down the Mount Haleakala volcano: closed toe shoes (e.g., sneakers) & some warm layers (long pants, socks, sweatshirt, windbreaker). It’s really cold on top, especially if you take the dawn bike ride.
• If you plan to ride a horse: closed toe shoes and long pants
• If you plan to hike: hiking shoes, long pants, long sleeve shirt

Information – At the Cove
About the Owners . . . show more
The vacation condos at Honokeana Cove are individually owned, and each is uniquely furnished and decorated by its owner. The owners themselves are just as varied as the condos. Many live in California, while others are spread across the United States. Some condos have been in the same family since they were built in 1969, while others have relatively new owners. What our owners have in common is a love for Honokeana Cove – its beauty, its turtles and its private relaxed location on the West Maui coast.
Most owners and guests discover Honokeana Cove the same way – by personal recommendation from a friend, often accompanied by the caution, “don’t tell too many people!” Vacationers who are used to staying in a big hotel, where it’s a mile walk from the lobby to your room, are delighted to roll out of bed and find themselves “right there,” just a few steps away from a dip in the pool or a snorkel in the peaceful Cove. Once they make friends with the turtles, they’re sure to return!
Checking Out . . . show more
Check-out time is 10:00 am on your day of departure.
If you need a later check-out time, please contact the Rental Office as soon as you know. If the unit is not booked for check-in the same day, the office can authorize a late check-out for one-half the daily room rate.
If you are checking out during office hours, please return all keys to the Rental Office. If you check out when the office is closed, you may leave the keys where they are visible inside the unit. Whenever you depart, please remove all garbage from the unit and start a load of dirty dishes in the dishwasher before leaving.
For any additional information, please contact the Rental Office staff and they will be happy to help you.
Coffee Maker . . . show more
Every Honokeana Cove unit is supplied with a Mr. Coffee electric coffee maker. When you check in, we will also start you off with a packet of coffee for your first morning.
You may want to try out the delicious coffees that are grown on Maui and other Hawaiian islands. These coffees are available a quarter mile away at Napili Market and just about everywhere in West Maui.
Your unit will probably have a supply of coffee filters in one of the kitchen cabinets. If for some reason the supply has run out, we suggest using a folded paper towel as a filter for the moment, then asking the Rental Office to re-supply the filters as soon as they can.
Emergencies . . . show more
Telephone 911 for 24-hour immediate help in case of a Medical, Fire or Police Emergency. There is an ambulance center one-quarter mile away, next to the Napili Plaza shopping center.
Need First Aid? There are a First Aid kit and an AED (automated external defibrillator) on the lanai of Unit #110, the Resident Manager’s residence.
In case of a Lockout or other Urgent But Not Life-Threatening Situation:
During office hours, contact the Rental Office. The Rental Office is open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday except holidays, phone (808) 669-6441.
Outside office hours, call Resident Manager Ray Watson at (808) 269-6986. You can also ring the doorbell and knock on the door at condo unit #110. Try both the front door and the lanai door. Do not enter the resident managers private residence under any circumstance.
Urgent Storm or Water Damage: call Premier Restoration Hawaii at (808) 873-8886 or (808) 201-2140. Our account with them is through Honokeana Cove AOAO, 5255 Lower Honoapi’ilani Rd, Lahaina.
Medical “Urgent Care” Centers (if possible, phone ahead to confirm they are open):
• Doctors On Call (808) 667-7676 is open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, at their office near Times Supermarket at 3350 Lower Honoapiilani Road, Lahaina.
• Minit Medical Urgent Care (808) 667-6161 is located at 2580 Kakaa Drive #111, Lahaina. It’s open 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Sunday.
* For Kaiser Permanente members: Kaiser West Maui (833) 833-3333 temporarily located at 2301 Kaanapali Parkway near the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort. Call to confirm hours and location.
Grilling & Barbecuing . . . show more
Honokeana Cove has three stainless steel propane-fired barbecue grills next to the swimming pool, overlooking the Cove. You’ll have a great view of the turtles bobbing to the surface at dusk as you grill your steak or veggies!
There are generally brushes and grilling tools at the barbecues. There may also be forks and tongs in your condo kitchen. Please brush the grills clean after use.
The barbecues have electronic starters but you will find it easier to use a propane fireplace lighter. There is usually a lighter at the barbecues.
The barbecues are maintained by the Resident Manager. The propane lines, which also fire the tiki torches, are set to automatically cut off at 9:00 pm. Try to plan your cooking accordingly!
Heating & Cooling . . . show more
Honokeana Cove, like almost all condos in West Maui, does not use heaters. However, your unit has blankets for the beds and if you need more bedding, contact the Rental Office.
In keeping with Honokeana Cove’s “Old Hawaii” feeling, many of the condo units do not have air conditioning. However, all of them have ceiling fans, and windows may be opened to welcome the cooling Trade Winds.
House Rules . . . show more
You will be provided a copy of the House Rules at check-in. Here are the most important rules for your reference.
Smoking, vaping and e-cigarettes are not permitted inside the units, nor in any common area, including lanais, pool area, sidewalks, laundry rooms and lawn. A smoking area has been set aside at the southeast corner of the parking lot.
Due to the limited lawn space here at the Cove, ball playing or Frisbee throwing is prohibited except for Cove generated games and activities. Our sidewalks are now A.D.A. compliant, so we ask that there be no skateboarding on those sidewalks nor in the parking area.
The Green Sea Turtles are federally and state protected wildlife. It is illegal and against House Rules to approach, harass or touch them. Please give our big visitors plenty of their own space!
For the comfort of all guests, the complex quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Laundry room use is limited to 8:00 am to 9:00 pm; please start your last load no later than 8:00 pm.
Pool hours are 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Kids under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. No loud games or rigid floats, but soft flotation (e.g. “pool noodles”) are OK.
May we suggest that when leaving your unit for any period of time that you lock your lanai and front door. Guests are responsible for the security of their valuables.
Though our normal check-out time is 10:00 am, arrangements for a late check-out (at a charge) can be made unless there is someone coming to the unit that same day. Then it sure would be crowded.
All damages caused by our guests are their financial responsibility. This is the reason for leaving a credit card number with the office at check-in. Illegal activity defined by federal, state & local law will not be tolerated. No Maui-wowie!
Housekeeping & Maid Service . . . show more
Housekeeping service is provided before you check in, and after you depart, to prepare the unit for the next guest. Beach towels are supplied on check-in and may be washed with your personal laundry. If you wish to have additional housekeeping during your stay, ask the Rental Office about availability and how much you will be charged.
In-Room Safe . . . show more
Every Honokeana Cove condo is equipped with a free safe for your use. Please keep your valuables secured when you are not in the unit.
Internet – See Wi-Fi
Kitchen . . . show more
Every unit at Honokeana Cove has a fully equipped kitchen, by which we mean that you should find almost everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals in the unit or on your lanai. Of course, that includes a dishwasher and a microwave.
To reduce the chance of backup, please do not put pineapple scraps, papaya seeds, fibrous material or grease in the kitchen sink garbage disposal.
Laundry . . . show more
There are two shared coin-operated laundry rooms, available 8:00 am to 9:00 pm: the north laundry room is near unit #117 and the south one is around the corner from the rental office. Please start your last load no later than 8:00 pm as a courtesy to minimize noise in nearby units. The washer cycle ($2.50) is about 30 minutes, the dryer cycle ($2.50) is about 55 minutes. Both laundry rooms have a detergent vending machine; however, only the south laundry room has a change machine.
Please do not hang clothes or towels from the railings of the lanais.
Maintenance Issues . . . show more
If you find anything that needs fixing, please let us know!
If the problem is immediate or urgent, then please contact our on-site staff:
– During office hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday except holidays), see the staff in the Rental Office
– At other times, call the Resident Manager at (808) 269-6986 or visit his unit (Honokeana Cove #110)
If the problem is of a non-urgent nature, please fill out one of the yellow “trouble slips” that is available from the Rental Office. Filling out the trouble ticket ensures that the Rental Office will have our handyman take care of the problem on his next visit to the Cove.
What kind of problem might you encounter?
– Burned out light bulbs – Handyman will replace
– Non-working coffee maker – Rental Office will replace
– Plugged up plumbing, or can’t get the TV or Internet to work properly – when things like this happen, it’s usually outside office hours, and the Resident Manager is happy to help
Noise Policy & Quiet Hours . . . show more
Honokeana Cove is a small and secluded resort. For that reason, we ask all guests to minimize their noise out of consideration for their neighbors. If excess noise from another unit disturbs you, please ask the Rental Office or the Resident Manager to remind them to “keep it down.”
Quiet Hours. For the comfort of all guests, the complex quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Laundry room use is limited to 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Pool . . . show more
It’s great to swim in Honokeana Cove, but sometimes you just want to get up from your lounger and take a dip in the heated swimming pool.
Every pool you go to seems to have some rules, but ours are very simple. Our pool is open 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Inexperienced swimmers or youngsters must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We are not legally responsible for accidents involving injury at our pool, thus we request no rigid floatation devices and toys in the pool. However, soft flotation aids such as foam noodles are OK! Loud games like Marco Polo are discouraged; older folks don’t understand the fun it is for youngsters.
It may be a stretch for some folks but we request proper coverage in bathing attire while in pool area. Swim diapers are required for those who need them.
You may move lounge chairs to the lawn during the day as long as you return them.
Ear phones for audio devices are requested.
No glass items are allowed around the pool and its deck: please use non-breakable containers for your food and drink.
Pupu Parties . . . show more
As a tradition, Honokeana Cove holds a pupu party (potluck hors d’oeuvres) approximately one hour before sunset every Wednesday evening, unless prevented by weather or other factors. All guests are invited to share snack food, exchange recipes, snorkeling tales, talk story and swap adventures. It’s BYOB. Please return the plates etc. back to your unit at the end of the party, Mahalo!
Rainy Days . . . show more
Rainy days are rare in West Maui – it’s the leeward side of the island, which means that it is also the drier side. West Maui averages less than 30 inches of rain per year. What you will most often experience will be a brief downpour that is immediately followed by sunshine and a spectacular rainbow.
Nevertheless, once in a great while you will have a few days of intense rain, which is more likely to happen in early winter.
If you feel like staying home at Honokeana Cove, your unit may have indoor distractions for you – besides the TV and DVD players, the owner may have provided games and books. There are also books in both laundry rooms that you are welcome to borrow to read. When the rain pauses, take a look from your lanai – storms often bring impressive waves, and you may see expert surfers riding some big ones.
What if you’d rather explore, and find something to do indoors out of the weather? Because Maui is a well-equipped tourist destination, it also includes good activities for rainy days. Our favorites are the Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium) and indoor shopping at Lahaina Cannery Mall. The website Jon’s Maui has an extensive discussion of rain on Maui, and activities you can do when it rains: https://www.mauihawaii.org/maui-activities/rainy-day-maui-rain.
Rental Office Souvenirs . . . show more
Our guests fall in love with Honokeana Cove, and some of them want a souvenir to take with them. We’re sorry, but we cannot send you home with a Green Sea Turtle! However, our rental office sometimes has items for sale.
Safety . . . show more
Maui is a safe island, and thanks to our secluded location and gated property, Honokeana Cove is an especially safe destination. However, no place can be absolutely secure, so we ask that you use the same precautions that you would at any location where people come and go every day. We suggest the following:
– Remember that guests are responsible for the security of their possessions and valuables. We encourage you to use the free safe that is provided in your unit.
– Keep the “front door” of your unit – that’s the door farthest from the ocean – locked at all times.
– Keep the sliding door locked except when it’s within sight of you or a member of your party.
– Our gates do a good job of discouraging unauthorized visitors. However, if you see any suspicious person or activity, please report it to the Rental Office or the Resident Manager.
– Our Resident Manager is trained and has procedures in place to handle any emergency. Major weather events are very rare, but if one occurs please follow the Manager’s instructions as well as official announcements to ensure your personal safety.
Snorkeling . . . show more
One of the wonderful and unique things about Honokeana Cove is its resident population of Green Sea Turtles. These gentle giants are protected by Hawaii State and U.S. law, and at any time you’ll find more than a dozen of them lounging on the sandy bottom of the Cove, or swimming up to take a breath and graze on algae.
The turtles are especially active at dusk; you can sit on your lanai and see their heads bobbing up all over the Cove. It’s even more fun to join them in their watery domain during daylight hours. No, you’re not allowed to touch them or ride them, but it’s a great experience to see them up close – not to mention all the colorful coral and tropical fish.
Your vacation condo may have snorkeling equipment for your use. If not, you can rent mask, snorkel and fins inexpensively at nearby shops. These are also good places to rent a surfboard, paddleboard, kayak or (at Boss Frog’s) a bicycle. The closest shops are:
– Water Works Sports, two doors to the north at 5315 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, (808) 298-2446. Inside the Napili Shores Resort.
– Snorkel Bob’s, 0.3 miles to the north at 5425 Lower Honoapiilani Rd, Lahaina, (808) 669-9603.
– Boss Frog’s Dive, Surf & Cycle, 0.4 miles to the south in Napili Plaza, 5095 Napilihau St, Lahaina, (808) 669-4949. Just to the left of the entrance to Napili Market.
What if you use glasses or contact lenses? You can wear contact lenses (but not over-the-ears glasses) under your facemask. But you may not need either one while snorkeling, because you can get a facemask with built-in vision correction. Rental shops like those listed above rent and sell facemasks with prescriptions ranging from minus 1.5 to minus 7 diopters. Phone the shop before you visit to make sure they have your desired magnification.
For a complete guide to Snorkeling at Honokeana Cove, see the tips posted by one of our owners at https://maui114.net/all-about-snorkeling-at-honokeana-cove/.
Telephone . . . show more
Telephones are installed in each unit for local (Maui) calls. Long distance calls may be made by placing a collect call or using a credit card. A few condo owners offer free long distance service to their guests.
Trash . . . show more
Most food garbage except bones can go into the garbage disposal. However, it is suggested not to put pineapple scraps, papaya seeds, fibrous material or grease in the disposals at Honokeana Cove.
Under the kitchen sink is a trash basket lined with a plastic bag. There should be additional plastic bags under the sink; if you run out, please ask the Rental Office for more of them. When the bag is full, just add the bathroom & bedroom trash, knot it up and put it in one of the red garbage cans located behind both laundry rooms. [The south trash area is available 24 hours a day; the north one is open 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.]
The trash can areas also have recycling bins for your use. There are separate bins for aluminum cans, glass bottles and plastic containers.
Our Resident Manager and his assistant empty the trash and recycle bins frequently, but sometimes they fill up fast. Please let the manager know if the bins need service.
TV/Cable . . . show more
The television and DVD setup may be somewhat different in each unit. If the TV doesn’t immediately turn on, here are some things to check:
– Make sure the Cable Box is turned on (showing its “on” indicator light). If it’s off, find the Spectrum Cable remote, push the CBL button, then POWER to turn it on.
– Make sure the TV is turned on. If there’s a TV button on the remote, push it first, then push POWER.
– Make sure the TV SOURCE is properly set to receive the cable signal. You may need to push the INPUT/SELECT button on the remote, then the up and down buttons to select HDMI1, HDMI2, or CABLE.
There are so many High Definition channels that it’s difficult to keep a printed guide up to date. Your best approach is to use the on-screen guide: push CBL, then GUIDE on the Spectrum remote, then the up and down arrows to browse channels. When you have learned your favorite channel numbers, make a note of them for future use.
If you have any trouble making the TV or DVD players work, please contact the Resident Manager in unit #110 for assistance. He is expert at making every device at Honokeana Cove perform! He can also replace batteries if your remote has died. The manager’s cell phone is (808) 269-6986.
Weather . . . show more
Honokeana Cove maintains a current Maui weather forecast on our website at http://honokeana.net/weather/. For a more detailed look at Maui weather, go to Hawaii Weather Today. Weddings & Events . . . show more
Honokeana Cove Resort is the perfect venue for a special occasion with your friends!
We have welcomed many gatherings, both Hawaiian and mainland traditional, including weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, reaffirming of vows, family reunions and memorial services. For more information, see our Weddings & Events page.
Wi-Fi . . . show more
Every unit at Honokeana Cove unit has its own Wi-Fi service for its guests, with download speeds generally exceeding 100 Mbps. You will find network sign-on information inside the unit when you arrive. If you need a secure service, you can plug your laptop computer directly into the modem rather than using the wireless connection.
If your unit’s wi-fi service is not working, try pushing the reset button on the wireless router. Alternatively, you can unplug its power cord, wait ten seconds, plug it back in, and give it a minute to turn on. If this doesn’t work, contact the Resident Manager; he will know whether the Cove-wide internet services have been interrupted for some reason.

Beach . . . show more
Honokeana Cove has a rocky beach that is great for swimming and snorkeling. Because the sand doesn’t extend above the water level, waves don’t stir up the sand very much, so the water is clear for snorkeling. (However, for a couple of days after a rainstorm, the water may be murky when mud washes out of the hills.) The easiest way to enter the Cove is to go down the stairs from the lawn and then enter the water where the sand is closest to the shore. Depending on how the weather rearranges the sand, you may find it convenient to turn left and follow the walkway next to the seawall until you reach the few steps going down into the water. There’s more about entering the water at this article.
If you want a traditional sandy beach, you don’t have far to go. Napili Bay beach is one of Hawaii’s most beautiful public beaches. It’s an easy quarter-mile walk to the north of Honokeana Cove: walking is best, because parking may be difficult to find. Just take a left out of the Honokeana Cove driveway and walk 600 feet to Napili Place. Turn left and walk 500 feet down the road, watching for a blue sign marking the public accessway to the beach.
