Today: Aloha

Honokeana Cove History - Today Aloha

Honokeana Cove is a second home for happy guests all year long.

Seasons. There are visitors of all ages every month, but different seasons still attract different guests. In the winter you’ll see grandparents, sometimes with families in tow; they have been vacationing at Honokeana Cove for an amazing number of years.

In the summer you’ll see younger couples or families with kids, making the most of water sports. In the spring and fall we welcome a wide variety of guests who find Maui’s quieter seasons to their liking. During the holidays you’ll find a broad mix, including family groups occupying several adjoining units.

At every time of year our great staff is there to help you have a perfect vacation. Here’s a brief introduction:

Su Campos, our full-time Rental Manager, has her office right on the property. Every day Su or her assistant is on hand to solve problems, answer questions, or just give you a big smile. Su is a talented artist who re-created the logo you see above, which has announced Honokeana Cove on our T shirts and signage since Su first joined the Cove in 1993. Su hosts our weekly pupu parties on Wednesday afternoons and manages all the rental services such as cleaning and linens.

Betty Lembke, Su’s assistant, fell in love with Maui on a Honeymoon trip in 1982. A year later, she and her husband made Maui their home. They raised two children here and have enjoyed the Island lifestyle. Betty has been an integral part of the Cove during the years 2006 until 2012, when we had to say Aloha to Betty as we began our renovations. Betty has recently returned to Honokeana Cove and we have the dynamic duo together in the office once again.

Ray Watson, our full-time Resident Manager, lives at the Cove in unit #110 with his wife Gemma. Ray, originally from Washington, is experienced in retail hardware, maintenance engineering and hospitality to keep the Cove looking wonderful and operating smoothly. Gemma is a professional photographer from British Columbia. Gemma and Ray met on Maui in 2015 and were married here in December 2016. Ray oversees the grounds, buildings and swimming pool and is also the one to call if you have problems with the Internet or gate or door locks. Ray and Gemma have been at the Cove since 2017.

Juanito Acido joined our staff in 2015 and assists the Resident Manager as groundskeeper. A long-time resident of Maui, he helps keep Honokeana Cove lush and beautiful for the enjoyment of our guests.

Thanks for reading about Honokeana Cove and its history. We hope you’ll spend your vacation with us. We promise to make it special and memorable!
