Short Rules and Regulations for Guests
COMPLIANCE: Guests must follow all Maui County and State laws and the Association’s governing documents and policies. These “Short” Rules and Regulations are key rules pertaining to guests at the Project, however all guests at the Project must also abide by the full set of House Rules which is available from your rental agent and/or the Association’s management..
PARKING: There is only one parking space per rental unit. A hang tag must be displayed on the mirror. Unidentified vehicles may be towed.
SECURITY: For security, do not share any gate codes with any person who is not a guest. Code use will be audited, and codes that become publicly known will be canceled. Please lock your car and your unit when you are not present, and use the free safe in your unit for valuables. Web cams and security cameras are in use in the common areas of the property.
VISITORS: Persons who do not own, rent or occupy a unit are “Visitors.” They must be hosted by a Guest or an Owner and must be registered with the Resident Manager before arrival at the property. All Visitors shall leave the property by 10 p.m. Guests may not allow Visitors to use the Common Areas without prior written approval of the Board. Requests for Board approval may be submitted to the Resident Manager.
POOL: The heated pool is available from 8 am to 10 pm. NO LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY AND THE POOL AREA SHALL BE USED AT YOUR OWN RISK. Inexperienced swimmers must be supervised by an experienced swimmer. Pool noodles are permitted, but large floats and noisy games are not allowed. Swim diapers are required for incontinent persons. Absolutely no glass items or breakable items in the pool area or at the pupu party.
COMMON AREA: Loungers and chairs are first come, first served and may not be held for others. No ball or frisbee throwing, skateboards, hammocks, beach umbrellas, fireworks or drone flying. Audio devices must not disturb others. Do not feed stray animals (even if they are cute!).
LANAIS: Clothing and towels may be hung on hooks but not over the railings. No surfboards, paddleboards or bicycles on lanais or inside the units. Items may be stored behind the north laundry room at owner’s risk.
LAUNDRY: Coin laundries are for guest use only. There is a change machine in the South laundry room. Laundry hours are 8 am to 9 pm with last load by 8 pm.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am. Please minimize loud conversation and cell phone use outside units, including using car remotes with beeps and sounds and slamming car doors.
NO SMOKING: Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside units, on lanais and in all common areas except the Designated Smoking Area in the parking lot.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed on the property. For Assistance Animals subject to State and Federal regulations, contact the Resident Manager in advance to seek an accommodation.

Honokeana Cove Rental Association
WELCOME! Mahalo for vacationing at Honokeana Cove Condominiums. This is a small gated oceanfront property in “Old Hawaii” style, with tropical fish and sea turtles. It doesn’t offer hotel amenities such as daily maid service, 24 hour desk, restaurant or spa, and many units are not air conditioned. Guests are asked “practice Aloha,” and show courtesy to one another. In Hawaiian terms, guests are part of our ‘ohana (family) so they have a kuleana (responsibility) of malama (caring) to this special place and its honu (turtle) inhabitants.

TIPS FOR AN ENJOYABLE STAY:
• Get a vehicle tag from the rental office and hang it from your vehicle’s rear view mirror.
• Please do not use spray sunscreen because it can harm the ocean and its wildlife.
• Endangered sea turtles and seals may be seen in the water and on our shoreline. Federal law forbids harassing or approaching these animals and the fine for touching a turtle is $100,000. Turtles have been known to bite. Stay at least 10 feet away from the turtles.
• Weather permitting, we hold our traditional pupu party (potluck hors d’oeuvres) every Wednesday one hour before sunset for Guests and Owners. Guests are invited to bring your favorite appetizer to share and meet other guests to talk story or swap adventures. Bring your own beverage in a nonbreakable container. Please return any items borrowed from the Unit to the Unit.
• Wi-fi network name & password should be posted in your unit. If it’s not working, unplug the router, wait 10 seconds, then plug it in & wait 1 minute. If still not working, ask the Resident Manager for assistance: (808) 269-6986.
DEPOSIT: A deposit of 3 nights at the daily rate is required to confirm a booking. Remaining balance including tax, cleaning fee and damage waiver fee is due 30 days prior to arrival. Your $39 damage waiver fee protects you from breakage, soiling, burns, stains or damage up to $500.
CANCELLATION: A booking cancelled more than 30 days prior to check-in will receive a refund of the deposit less a $50 cancellation fee. Less than 30 days prior to the arrival date, a cancellation forfeits the rental amount. However, if you need to cancel because of an unavoidable emergency, contact the rental office. Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain trip insurance to protect their investment in event of unforeseen circumstances.
RATES: Rates are subject to change until your reservation is confirmed. Rates are $US per night, plus cleaning fee and damage waiver fee, plus state and local taxes which currently total 17.962%. Quoted rates apply if you book directly through honokeana.net or by phoning the Honokeana Cove Rental Office at (808) 669-6441 or toll free (800) 237-4948. If you book through an online travel agency they may add other fees to pay for their services.
MINIMUM STAY:
• Regular Season: 3 nights
• Peak Season: 5 nights
• Holidays (Dec 15 – Jan 5): 7 nights
PAYMENT: Pay by cash, personal check, or credit card: Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards accepted.
CHECK‐IN and CHECK‐OUT: Check‐in time: 3:00 p.m. Check‐out time: 10:00 a.m. Make sure these times work for you. You will receive a pre-arrival email two weeks prior to the stay date, followed by a specific check‐in instructions one week prior to your arrival. PLEASE NOTE THESE HAVE BEEN UPDATED. You will receive House Rules and a security gate code which must be kept confidential within your group.
RENTAL MANAGEMENT by Maui Lodging Properties LLC. HAWAII TAXES (GET=General Excise Tax, TAT=Transient Accommodations Tax) are remitted by Honokeana Cove Rental Association LLC, tax ID 067-626-5984-01.
